A fine way to finish 2006!

Only two weeks now until my next trip and one that I'm very much looking foward to indeed. After months of preparation we've had to rearrange our 2007 Mexico tour due to disturbances in Oaxaca, so we are now heading for Colima and Jalisco starting 15th January.
My last birding excursion of the year was to the Ribble Marshes close to home and the accompanying image shows the Barn Owl that has performed so well over Clifton Marsh over on my last few visits to "the patch". The other highlight today was a superb adult Med' Gull on the river as I 'scoped the gathering of ducks (mainly Wigeon), gulls and waders on the mud.

Good birding in 2007!
