Definitely bird of the trip: Golden-backed Mountain-Tanager eventually gave itself up after we had spent a couple of hours scanning the forested hillsides at Bosque Unchog. When it did show it showed extremely well, but worringly we only saw one bird this year. It was in the company of Scarlet-bellied Mountain-Tanagers, Parduscos, Chestnut-bellied Mountain-Tanagers and a few Pearled Treerunners.

PERU (Central Sept / Oct 07): Golden-backed Mountain-Tanager.
Definitely bird of the trip: Golden-backed Mountain-Tanager eventually gave itself up after we had spent a couple of hours scanning the forested hillsides at Bosque Unchog. When it did show it showed extremely well, but worringly we only saw one bird this year. It was in the company of Scarlet-bellied Mountain-Tanagers, Parduscos, Chestnut-bellied Mountain-Tanagers and a few Pearled Treerunners.
