CUBA 2008: Giant Kingbird.

Our next port of call was Belen NP in the Sierra de Chorillo near Najasa. Giant Kingbird is easy to see here, a bird that is now confined to Cuba. It nests in Kapok trees and is threatened due to the disappearance of these huge trees. We stayed in the park this year instead of in the city of Camaguey (45 mins away by bus) and it was a delight to wake up in the morning with the birds on our doorstep including this huge threatened flycatcher.
