CUBA 2008: La Belen NP.

Cuban Trogon, La Belen NP March 2008.

Plenty of birds to be seen in La Belen NP this year, but no sign of any Gundlach's Hawk unfortunately. Cuban Palm Crow, Plain Pigeon, Cuban Parakeet, Cuban Parrot and West Indian Whistling-Ducks easily seen near the ranch plus the noisy Cuban Crow.

With a little spare time after lunch we were able to take a look at some butterflies too including White Peacock, Comon Ringlet, Cuban Crescentwing and Pygmy Fratillary.

Plenty of insects around one of the ponds too, including loads of stunning dragonflies - if only I had a guide to these things!
