That's better - Female Parana Antwren, Biritiba Mirim November 12th 2008.

Male Chestnut-capped Blackbird near Moji das Cruces, November 12th 2008.

Bit of a travel day today but to be honest it wasn't too difficult to leave Ubatuba in the teaming rain! The coastal mountains of the Serra do Mar were cloaked in cloud and we didn't lose the rain until we were well inland. En route to Intervales we stopped off at the
Parana Antwren site near Moji das Cruces. Well, we think it's Parana Antwren at least. These birds were only recently discovered at this site and they represent a range extension (Parana Antwren occurs further south), or maybe a "new" species. It took a bit of persuading that it should show but a female approached very nearby eventually.

Female Chestnut-capped Blackbird.
Cinnamon Tanager was a nice surprise there and these
Chestnut-capped Blackbirds performed for the cameras at a small marsh nearby.

Another small marsh just outside the town of Moji das Cruces wasn't quite so good for birds (few
Wattled Jacanas,
White-headed Marsh Tyrants, etc) but Neotropical River Otter was a nice surprise.
