Lesvos waders.

Wood Sandpiper on the Lower Tsiknias River, Lesvos May 2012.
Temminck's Stint, Lower Tsiknias River, Lesvos May 2012.
A few of the many waders we saw during the Ornitholiday's Lesvos tour last week: Wood Sandpiper is one of the most numerous passage waders in late April / May (this individual allowing very close views on the Lower Tsknias River by the ford one evening).

The pool by the salt works near Skala Kalloni was extremely good on one late evening with at least 5 Collared Pratincoles (above), 50+ Little Stints, 2 Curlew Sandpipers and a Marsh Sandpiper. We saw 2 Broad-billed Sandpipers there only a few days previously.
