LTD, CFT, LBH, PHP & TUH Pinks.

First the LTD .....

Popped down to Marshside to have a look at the female Long-tailed Duck on Fairclough's Pool on Sunday morning 17 Feb. Hordes of wildfowl on the RSPB reserve, 600+ Golden Plovers and 2,500+ Pink-footed Geese on the distant saltmarsh of Crossens Outer.

Now CFT, LBH, PHP & TUH .....

WWT's Kane Brides (back from Bulgaria where he's been catching and fitting transmitters to Red-breasted Geese - see here) sent me details of where some of 'my' Pink-footed Geese have been of late.

So since I saw CFT at Martin Mere he's made his way up to Dumfries & Galloway and currently knocking around the Annan Valley.

LBH was still at large in the Martin Mere area last week though.

I last saw PHP on 23/10/12 but she's back around the Martin Mere area again.

As is TUH.

Been a fair bit of discussion on-line re. Pink-footed Goose movements, mainly over Scotland. Off there at the weekend so I'll hopefully bump into some of these or some new ones.

Late afternoon visit to Hesketh Out Marsh on Sunday produced 2 Merlins, a Peregrine and the Great White Egret flying up the Ribble at dusk. Great views of Barn Owl as well.
